I am creating a web interface using photoshop, but I would also like to include elements of flash. Since I guess flash can be moreso used for webdesign (pages etc. while photoshop can obviously make a site look awesome) I was wondering if there was a way to import what you've done in photoshop, what with the slices and features of imageready, into flash without it being simply an image. So all those rollover states and etc. that i have created will remain. Or vice versa if there is a way to create and link pages in photoshop..?
Ultimately I'm tryin to see if I can incorporate these two programs without going through Dreamweaver, because I really don't know that program.

Thank you for your time.

oh yeah, I meant ImageReady as well when referring to Photoshop. Should've mentioned that. But is there a way to link pages in ImageReady?
And what about incorporating Flash into PS and vice versa?

Thanks so far.

flash and ps are two different animals
while u can take images and put them into flash, you can not take flash content into ps
and you can assign links in imageready

Photoshop integration into Flash is minimal at best. It really is sort of a pain in the neck. I've been struggling with it for a few months now, but I'm finally figuring everything out.

Yes. Don't use Flash. haha funny joke... I'm kidding of course.

Seriously though. Don't use anything but Flash MX 2004. I had a TON of trouble with regular Flash MX. I couldn't get it to stop distorting my imported bitmaps. I made the switch to 2004 and all my problems were solved.

One of the most useful things I've learned is that when you import a bitmap you should have a transparent buffer around the image you import. At least 2-5 pixels on every side of the image works fine. It's not like web graphics where you can trim right to the pixel and have it look fine. Very weird. The thing I hate about Flash the most is that so many things seem to happen that just dont make sense.

Also if you're importing bitmaps from photoshop, be sure to save as a PNG-24. This will maximize the quality of your images as well as provide you with alpha tranparency support, so all your cool curves and styles with anti-aliasing look just right.
