hey, I have this shot of my guiatr, and Im going to do a few modifications to the picture, but i want the guitar nexk to fade out in the black, like there is poor lighting. SO i was messing around weith gadients, but they keep adding in this white haze over the guitar. All i want is a light black that simpkly fades out so it looks like a shadow. How do i do this, i knwo it should be simple
Also Im going to reshoot the picture cuase the guiatr is diryt and its making the reglections look crappy

why dont u use the clone patch tool and take a piece of what looks good and blend it in with what doesnt look good??

shoot two pictures, one spot merer on theand one spot meter near the window on the guitar. then ill show you how to blend them. or take the original HQ file, go into levels, and bring the black point up and the grey point down.

or create a duplicate layer, use levels until the neck is dark enough and then use a layer mask with a gradient on it to merge the two layers together. seems like that would be the easiest and least destructive.

oh i figured it out you hav etos elect the right kind fo gradient type. Foreground to transperancy, and you guys were talking about blending twho shots.

photosynthesis- that way is much easier, but its unnatural, looking, obviously Pshopped.

I think photosynthesis did a good job. Doesn't look blatantly photoshopped to me...

yeah, Im going to make it a little more subtle and apply and even less noticible one orm behind the guitar on the left side.
