Hey guys -

I searched through the archives, but I didn't see anything related to this.

I am using a website template and I need to change the button text.

I don't know how to even begin.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you in advance! Big Grin

Well - no. It came with an images folder with lots of .gifs. No blanks.

It also came with CSS sheets - but that won't help - right??

I'm learning as I go. Don't you hate people like me? LOL

They really should have given you a .psd.

You'll have to use the clone tool to get that text out and then type your own text on top of it.

Oops - - I was looking in the wrong folder.

They did give me a .psd file.

Thank you for helping me!!!!

Okay -

I've been reading my PhotoShop 5.0 book and learned and played with layers! YAY me! Ain'tcha proud!? Big Grin

Anyway, when I got to the part about adding text (playing and learning) it doesn't show up!

I'm guessing it has something to do with my view or something? No matter how big I made the font and no matter how many times I clicked inside my new picture, I never saw the text.

Also, in the text box, the font was tiny, tiny, tiny. I had to blow it up to 800 to see it in the text bos.

BTW - YES, I did have the preview button clicked.

I'm guessing that if I can master this part, I'll be on my way to changing the text button text on my template .psd file. Right?

Is the text layer on the top of all the other layers?

If you're asking if the TEXT layer is on the top level of the Layers Palette - yes.

What am I doing wrong??

Okay - hours later...

I figured out how to make type on the psd template -

Now, how do I delete the type already there?

And do I need to do any of this raster stuff or anything when I'm done?

Puh-lease - someone help! I really want to learn this and I'm willing to research on my own - but I'm going crazy over here.
Confused Confused Confused

TIA!

Okay - me again. Sorry - - I'm learning this as I go and any advice would be welcome.

I figured out that I had to delete the text layers of each section and was able to type in my new nav text and such. YAY!

So, I saved the psd file as something else.

1. What do I do with the old psd file?
2. Do I have to raster or whatever it's called the new psd file?
3. I'm updating the site in FP2002 (don't yell at me), how do I get the new changes I made to show up in the index.html file?
4. Have you figured out I'm like a dog with a bone?
5. What next?

Thanks....
