i just got photoshop today well...actully its the free trial but uhh...i am look to put two pictures together like group them together like a batman pic and a super man pic but cut both of them out of thier backroud and post them together is it possible

Yes it is possible, but complicated to explain. the first step is getting a background image, you can make a plain one easly enough (file>new) and pick your size etc. or use one from somewhere else (say your garden photo) then for your batman/superman you need to cut them out from their original background, I use filter>extract using the top tool on the left of that screen draw around superman, then using the next tool down (the fill tool) click inside the area you want to keep, and it should turn blue (if it all turns blue you have a gap in the edge somewhere, go back to the top tool and check around the edge) when you are ready click ok, and supermans cut out (repete for batman) you can clean up the edges carfully with the eraser tool, then with you background on screen (as well as superman/batman) click on batman then on the layers palette drag the small pic of him onto your background image (use the move tool) do the same for superman, and if you want to save as a jpeg got to layers>flatten.
