I'm helping someone with their website and they have a logo saved as a jpeg. The logo has text that needs to be changed. The logo was created by someone else and I don't have the original. I downloaded the logo but can not seem to edit the text.
How can I do this? |

A jpg doesn’t support editable text. If you don’t have access to the original psd file, you’ll probably have to paint the text out with the color of the background and type in the new. |

How can I do that? Do I just add a layer? I can not select new Layer for the picture, why?

You’re sure it’s a jpg and not a gif (Indexed Color)? (Image>Mode>select RGB)
When you select the type tool and start typing, a type layer is created automatically. |
