Photoshop question: Guide sets

I am currently using Photoshop 7, and one feature I have always wanted, but never been able to find (if it even exists) is the ability to have multiple sets of guides.

I imagine this as being able to set guides to different sets, with different colors, and being able to turn them on and off at will. Maybe this exists in Photoshop CS or CS2, but I just don't know about it.

I often use several guides, and I spend quite a bit of time rearranging them, only to find myself needing those guides again.

I searched these forums as well as Google (and asked friends), but found nothing.

Any help?

OK so PS only caters for one set of Guides or one Type of Grid. Solution? -Make up your own and save them.
1. Set up the Grid/Guides you want in the Preferences Menu.
2. New Layer and Brush Tool to the colour you want.
3. Click at the beginning of the line and while pressing the Shift Key paint to the end of the line (it will guarantee a straight line and if you keep it pressed you can go over it again and again to make sure you paint a firm line with no streaking).
4. Repeat as necessary for vertical and horizontal lines/colours.
5a. Save the Layer as a File with corresponding name in a folder called say: Grids.
5b. Repeat the job whilst turning it into an Action; again name it accordingly and save it in your newly created action folder.
6. Next time you want to call up the Guide either copy and paste if it's in 5a mode or play the corresponding Action if you've decided on 5b.
