Hi All,
I am in the process of building a machine to run photoshop....I do know that most any machine will run it effeciently with enough RAM
Here are my machine specs
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor (Venice) Socket 939 Retail (2.0 GHZ) or
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor (Venice) Socket 939 Retail (2.2GHZ
about $100 difference in price
Asus Mobo (depends on video card) 1 board is AGP 8x and the other is PCI express
3 GIGS of DDR400
My only 2 issues are:
1. which SATA drives are "better to use
Maxtor Maxline III 7B250S0 250GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer or
Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 160GB Serial ATA II 7200RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer
The drives are about $60 difference in price....Am I going to really see the difference with the 16MB vs the 8MB drive ??
Which drives has a higher I/O rating ???
2. Which video card should I use ??
I currently have an 8x 128MEG AGP card that is a GeForce4 Ti 4200-8x
from leadtek
or should I "upgrade" to a 256Meg PCI Express card ??
Will the PCI express make a difference in Photoshop ??
Also i really don't play games |
