I recently discovered a problem that I have no idea how it got created. I have photoshop set up to open up all my images (jpeg, bmp, etc.). All of a sudden, all my jpeg icons went to one of the windows default icons, and when I double click on an image (no matter what the file type), photoshop opens, but no file. I have to open Photoshop first, then go to "open", then browse for the file. It worked before, and now all of a sudden, it doesn't. I have looked for a setting for this, but to no success. Not to mention that I can't figure out how to switch my jpeg icons back to what they were. This isn't that big of a deal, but it just saves a little time, being my images are spread across my computer in different folders. Plus, I would like to know what happened. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh, by the way, I'm running Photoshop 7, and Windows 2000...if that helps. Thanks again!!!

Right click on any image and in general you'll see "opens with" and a change box, use that to select your choice of program to open the pic. The reason it's changed is usualy caused by something you have installed setting it as the preference (I had this problem with, I think real player for some reason) I got mine back to the defaults. Tried this and still doesn't work. To open ANY image in Photoshop, I have to open Photoshop first and open from within the program. I can't just double click and open it. I would think there would be a setting for this somewhere, but I can't find one.

My advice would be to first goto the prefferences<"Edit/prefferences i think"

If u cannot find anything there then youll prob have to reinstall PS.

Ive had trouble like that before and it was quicker to just reinstall than figure out the problem.

If u uninstall PS then u may have to delete any files that PS left in the registry or when u reinstall, u may have the same settings u had before u uninstalled PS. "B-SURE to back your registry up before u delete anything!!!"
