Hello! I am new to this forum. I have a photo business, and am fairly good at a FEW things in PhotoShop CS2.

One of my favorite things to use is the cloning tool. But (1) it has never been long-going in its effectiveness. By that I mean when I'd select a place to clone, the application would go with accurate color only 3-4 times (clicks), then I'd have to do a reselection.

(2) Right now, I can't make the cloning tool work AT ALL. It has been a while since I used PhotoShop, so maybe I'm forgetting something? What could be wrong, do you think? Anyone have any ideas how to get my cloning tool back? I've restarted on several occasions, and it doesn't help.

The image I'm working on is a public domain lion image, t owhich I have pasted a lamb. I lassoed the lamb from a different photo, pasted it there just fine, and now I want to mask out with the cloning tool, the "impurities" around the edges of the lamb.

Is the layer active, check for the brush stroke and the mode the brush is set for.

Brow Hi, Instante. Thank you so much!

How do I know if the layer is active or not?

The cloning is set for "cloning."

select your layer and ensure its not locked.

when you select your tool, make sure that you check your settings, I sometimes forget and my brush is incorrect or my blending mode is set to something I wont be able to see my cloning process also the opacity.
