I did this really quick so it looks pretty bad, but it'll give you the idea... What I did was used the Magnetic Lasso tool to outline the parts that needed to be painted. I would do this in sections, as you can very clearly see I sloppily did. This is because when you apply the blend mode, it'll apply differently to differently lit parts of the car. Once you have an area selected, create a new layer and use the paint bucket tool (set to white), and fill in the selected area. Then change the blend mode of that layer to "Overlay." Adjust opacity and possibly even use a gray instead of a white to apply it to differently lit parts of the car. Dont' forget to create a new layer for each part!
