Actually, I'm not a beginner but I don't use PS that often. That's the reason I'm still in PS 7.
Recently when I open a "New File" it opens up as a slice. How can I correct that. I don't want to work with slices. How can I open a new file in the default setting?
Thanks!!!
Sincerely,
Ilka Flood |

When you open a new file does it have a few option tabs across the top? saying things like 4 up? Wayne |

Thank you, Wayne, for trying to help me! I truly appreciate it.
No...it doesn't have option taps across the top. I am NOT in Image Ready. I'm in Photoshop7. I have no clue what's going on. I even uninstalled PS and then reinstalled it again hoping it would open a new file in default, but it still opens a new file in slice mode (or whatever you call it.)
The new file has the 01and the other little slice icon (looks like a rectangle with a tryangle and a half) in the top left corner. |

I can't seem to replicate this at all, have you tried trashing preferences? hold down ctrl + alt +shift as soon as PS starts to load up, uninstalling wont do this (for some reason) and it often cures odd problems. Wayne |

Wayne's suggestion of toasting your preferences should do it, but I think all you may have to do is go to View/Show/ and deselect Slices. |
