Hi, this is my first real effort on photoshop and i was wondering what you all thought of my work and maybe how i can improve?

Experience, practice and sweat, blood and tears. Just find something you like and keep doing it!

For your first outing in Photoshop it's a good start, just keep plugging away.

i can see you're paying attention to details. Practice is the only cure i guess...

Yeah attention to detail, i do seem to be doing that alot.

Brilliant idea but some details can be improved to step closer to perfect. You have dark background so the monk should be very dark and 2 light sources from both back and front should reveal details in front and back of the monk.
