When making a selection, I like to use the magnetic lasso tool. I usually zoom in on the image. I just hate it when you get to the edge of the image and you have to "manually" push the lasso tool against the edge of the image to give you get access to the rest of the image to select it. I always mess up and selection is ruined by the quick movement when more is opened....

I hope this makes sense... my question, is there any way to scroll the image up or down when you get to the edge of it and you still have to select outside of the window...

Maybe there's a key stroke that will allow me to scroll up or down or right or left without losing the amount that I've already selected.

Thanks.

Not sure I understand...
Try:
Press the F key to get to Full Screen mode w/menu. Hold down the space bar (while using the laso) to temp bring up the hand tool to move around.
or
hold down option key (alt PC) to temp access polygonal tool while using magnetic lasso.

hope it helps. post back if not.

Thanks, cbadland. Basically, what I'm talking about is moving the image around while using the lasso tool.....having some way of scrolling without losing control of the lasso tool.... this is hard to describe.

My first response:
Before selecting the lasso, press the F key to go inot Full Screen Mode. Then, while the Lasso Tool is selected, press the space bar to temp access the hand tool to scroll around the image. I use this all the time. A good technique to know.

That always bugged me with the polygonal lasso tool.
