I'm looking for a plugin that will create realistic mountains in pohotoshop and failing that a tutorial.

I'm not aware of a plugin for photoshop that creates mountains. I can't say that I've seen any tuts for it either. You might try terragen. I've used it a few times to create some fairly realistic scenery and with some pratice you can make some outstanding looking scenes.
