I do giclee printing and need to have good color on my monitor. I own an Eye One calibrator, mac G5 with the RGB monitor (the one with the blue apple on the side), an Epson 7800 and a UMAX scanner.

The color I see on the monitor is always off even when I calibrate every week in the dark. Usually, the colors are too light on my monitor. Lately, after calibrating, everything was pink. I have always wondered what those color cards were for that I've seen, is it to compare a particular color on the monitor with what that color should be on the card?? If so, how do you know which color is which, do you start with white??

Thanks for any help.
