Hey I realize photoshopforums.com is an awesome resource for photoshop knowledge but I was wondeirng if anyone could recommend any good books that would give good introduction to using photoshop in general, but also for the more express purpose of editing digital photographs. Much appreciation to anyone who can suggest good titles or authors.

I personally think that "Restoration and Retouching" by Katrin Eismann is the PS reference book of reference books for anybody wanting to learn about photo restoration. And I think that Studio Techniques by Ben Willmore is the best photo enhancement manipulation tool out there for people awanting to understand PS.

Those are my favorite

Hi, welcome to the forum
here is my limited list of recomendations-

Basics:
Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Book
Then:
Photoshop Studio Techniques, by Ben Wilmore
Then for very advanced photo editing:
Photoshop for Photographers by Martin Evening

Also good are
Photoshop One-on-One by Deke McClelland
Photoshop for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby
Real World Photoshop by Bruce Fraser
and
Photoshop Restoration and Retouching by Katrin Eismann

(edit: I see lasa beat me to the post on a few. Also, great resource for me has been PhotoshopUser magazine. It's put out by National Association of Photoshop Professionals, but I think you might have to be a member to get it-don't know for sure.)
