Hey gang,

my wife is opening a shop here in Spain which will sell food and accessories for pets which will be called "Mundo Peludines" (pet world). She asked me if I could make a logo for it but I'm not an expert on creating logos. I've made a couple in black and white, colours to be decided. I was wondering if you guys could tell me which one (if any) you like best and/or give me some ideas/pointers. Thanks in advance :)

I agree with Patrick. The other logos don't really have have a lot to do with pet-stores.

The best idea I can come up with would be a paw with some simple typography in/around it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply SSO. I didn't use a paw in the design because I think it has been done too many times already.
I did get a couple of comments from IT experts saying that the last one is pretty good because it represents speed although as you pointed out, it doesn't really make you think of a pet store. Although, according to the experts, on a website it could be put in front of a background/banner with animals etc.
Any thoughts on that?

I can only see the last logo in a context of a race-car. It gives the impression of speed, I agree, but not in a 'good service' kind of way - more like a psysically-fast-moving-object kind of way, if you know what i mean?

The m with the rising P is a good strong motif, not a lot to do with pets mind, but it doesn't always have to be. The bottom logo is a non starter for reasons suggested. I like the animal incorporated ones, although cat and dog incorporated into vets surgery logos and the like are done to death.

I haven't thought about it really, but what about more unusual pets like iguanas, snakes and the more exotic pet to work in to the mP logotype. What does your wife sell? does she do exotics or a roaring trade in stick insects?

If you are going to have a logo that has no pets, you may want to think about adding the words "Pet Store" or something underneath to identify what it is. If someone sees any of those logos, they don't automatically think Pet Store.

The one with the cat and dog is a good start, but it a little too "clinical" and reminds me more of a vet. When I think of a pet store I think of something more fun, happy children petting the puppies, a parrot in the corner welcoming people in. The logos are good for someone who says they are not an expert, good concepts, but maybe something a little more lively?

Just a thought. If I had to choose one of those, I would choose the cat and dog one, but maybe liven it up with some color, even the words "Pet Store" small underneath.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I can work with that.

@Mike, she won't be selling pets just pet foods and accessories like leashes, toys etc.
