I need a laptop for running Photoshop for my Digital photography
and was wondering if I could get some help ???
Here is goes,here is my situation:
I have been trying to find a laptop to replace my current one as the lease is up and it is 3 years old
It is a Dell Inspiron 8200
P4-M 1.8 with 768 megs of ram PC2100 (Not a new Pentium M Dothan)
64 meg ATI Raedon 9000
60 gig 7200 Hitachi drive (main drive-O/S)
80 gig 5400 rpm ibm (modular bay-DATA STORAGE)
orinoco gold b/g client card
15" uxga screen (1600x1200 resolution)
24x CDRW/DVD combo drive
on board Firewire
PCMCIA USB 2.0 card
I definately want a 17"
Screen quality also is very important as well
What is the "best" resolution to get ??? some say 1440x900 is perfect for a 17" screen ????
This machine will be plugged in 99% of the time...so battery life is not an issue !!
Must be a Windows PC platform !!!
What about Matte or Briteview ??
MAIN USE::I do alot of digital photography,converting Canon 20D RAW files to TIFFS & jpegs using BreezeBrowser and then editing them, I also use Photoshop CS quite frequently and other imaging programs, basic office apps,burning CD's and the web
FYI-I use the machine for everything but I do not play games at all
What do I really need in a system to be happy for a long while ????
