I need a little help changing this TV image. Basically I want to use it as a button for a touchpanel. I need the image removed from the screen area and the background needs to be transparent. Then the two sides of the screen turned to different shades. I've attached a picture of what I would like it to look like, as well as one I would like to change.

More thatn anything I would like to know the steps involved in doing this so that I can do it myself. I tried to do some things but it came out pretty crappy.

Please let me know if you can help me out.

Not particularly good, but not horrible IMO. It's in PNG but if you need the photoshop source file I can send it to you.
