How do I fix the sun on his face?

Try the following method (it's dodge and burn but without damaging pixels) and see if it helps...

1) Open a COPY of the image and create a new, transparent layer above.
2) Change the blend mode of the transparent layer to soft light.
3) Set your foreground color to black, pick a largish soft brush and set the brush opacity to 30%
4) On the transparent layer, paint over the glares with the brush to burn them out.

If you burn too much, simply change the foreground to white and 'dodge' the glare back in a little.
