Hi,

Im new to photoshop, and came across this jpeg my friend sent me, said he done it in photoshop cs2 and would make a good banner for a site im working on.
Ive tried doing this again with the artistic filter, he said he used coloured pencil and others, and ive tried and tried. and he said he cant remember and I dont really want to bother him.

See I would use this banner, but it has white background and also I need something that is 870pixels by 170. If someone could please give me instructions on how to get a rectangle like this:

I have attached the file.
Please please help me Frown

Thank you

See attached image:
Its getting there but you still need to know some moves. make your rectangle color is as you please.
add NOISE (I added 35%) now go to the COLORED PENCIL FILTER and enter 11,5,23 just play around.
Hope this gets you started.

Thank you so much.
I will try, if anyone gets there before, please let me know how to do it. I would make it myself and not just take yours.
Again thank you

yeah this is mainly colored penil. it looks like he used multiple layers and made a lightly penciled direction going left and a strong one going right. use multiple layers for this and youll get what you want but like lasa said the noise and colored pencil filters should do the job for ya just fine.
