Can somebody shed some light on how this sort of cool-ness can be acheived
using Photoshop tricks. |

No much if any photoshop going on in these images.
Looks to me like fast shutter speeds and high iso and low aperture.
Someone who knows a bit more about photography might be able to help some more. |

I have to agree with Auieos but even if your originals are colour with little grain this effect is easily achieved in PS.
It is very much harping back to 35mm HP5 Ilford film a very nice effect...

The grass is not always greener on the other side. Your pix are as good as the others!
The only difference I can see is that your pix don't have that spot-ight in a grid background which you can easily add in PS.
One photographic advice I can give you :
You obviously shot at the highest shutter speed possible to freeze the motion and prevent blur, sometimes a bit of blur is good to indicate motion. So theey would look better had you used a slower shutter speed |
