What is the proper way to open and work on styles in PS? I have downloaded some styles and I dont know how to use them. I go into layer style and right click,and blending options menu falls down? Thanks

..that is in case you are making a syle or modifying a style.
If you have downloaded some style and placed them in the style folder you can simply apply the style upon loading them.
Go to the Style Palette normally staggered with the color and swatches palette. To add the style you need to click the arrow head >
and pick the style you want to load from you style folder.
Then once you have them loaded you simply press the style from the style palette. The style gets applied to the whole layer, can only apply to layers not background..the layer has to have some content can not be 100% transparent.
