Can you help please

I'm renaming my image files from the original DSCF_1234 to say 11_1234 the 11 would be for player no 11 if i was covering a football match, what i want to know is, how i match the file to info in a database, & add that info to the image description.

I'm not exactly sure I'm with you on this (it's been a long day! lol) but if you go to file/info the exif data should show the original file name. Wayne

I'm after merging info from a database with an image file, an example with player number 11 could be nationality age etc etc, & i'd like to place that type of info into the image description, in a similar way to a data set would add info from a database to a layer in the image.

You can add information in the exif data (the file info) theres a place there for disctiption.
You can add a sticky note to the image with the note tool (just above the hand tool) this will attach a sort of post it note you can add your text here and it will save with the image (not jpeg) this can be deleted/updated any time.
You can also add a voice note (click and hold on the note tool and select the audio option) although I must confess I haven't tried this one.

I'm looking to automating putting different captions on up to a thousand images at once, in the exif data, & i have the info in a database, it must be possible maybe with a script, with photoshop or Bridge.

The tricky bit is going to be getting the information in and in the right order (so the right details match the pic) it might be possible with a script, but I wouldn't know where to start with that. Wayne
