|

Hi, I am starting a new business making art prints for artists. I have purchased this huge printer ... just got it. I've been studying photoshop for months using "classroom in a book" and am finding out that I've probably studied the wrong thing.
I have three questions and thanks in advance for any of your expertise.
1. I successfully printed out a two foot by two foot photo I took of my husband with my 8.2 megapixel camera. Then, tried to print out another photo.... used the same photoshop settings, but the print was 6 inches by 6 inches...... I did notice that the second print was only 16. %... I wondered if that caused the difference in size? How do I set that to 100 % if that is what is needed?
2. I want to print out multiple small prints using this big paper and printer... I want to tile these various prints (all different) along the top making rows... I want them to be all different. I called Epson support and they said I could do that in photoshop. Do I use the browser? How do I do that, please??
3. I have a wide format scanner. It does up to 11 x 17 inches. If I have something larger to scan, let's say, I scan the bottom of the image and then scan the top of the image, how do I put them together?
Sorry for the length of this. I hope someone can help. |

On the second image that printed smaller, if you go Image>Image Size, what are the print dimensions? Realize that the percent zoom you see on an image in Photoshop has absolutely nothing to do with print size. And, make sure you have downloaded most current print driver from Epson.
You can use File>Automate>Contact Sheet to print get pictures in rows and/or columns from one folder. There are various settings to change size and spacing. Or you can just create a large New Document and drag the pictures in. But if you want a “mosaic effect”, you have to use one the photo-mosaic apps.
To put a split scan together, just increase the canvas size of one image (easiest way is just drag out beyond image with the Crop Tool), and drag and drop the other on to it. Use a layer mask to blend together. |

Thank so much. I can't wait to try the suggestions you made. I did get my big image to print out in the size that I wanted. Now, on to try your other suggestions.
Thanks again.!! |

I tried the contact... it's cool, the images from my folder just automatically go into it...
I tried opening a new document, but every image that I tried to drag into the new document wouldn't go. When I drug (is that a word?) the image into the document, the image just went back to where it started.
Any suggestions? I could use the contact thing, though. Just wondering about the other. |

Make sure the images you drag into the new file are not Index Color (.gif) images. |

So these images must be PSD or TIFF or JPG files?
Thanks again. |

No, you just are prohibited from dragging and dropping color indexed formats, like GIF and PNG-8 and 1-bit mode. You should be able to copy+paste those files. Just not drag+drop. |
