				I was browsing www.good-tutorials.com for some tutorials on how to create a sepia tone effect. I was looking at this one in particular:

http://www.good-tutorials.com/track/9777

After converting the photo to black and white, I was doing the second step(Open a new Photo Filter Ajdustment Layer. (Image>Adjustments>Photo Filter))

I cannot find Photo Filter in my Adjustments menu. I am using Photoshop 7.0. Does anyone know what the problem is? Or is there another way to get the sepia tone effect (I like the effect that is shown at the end of that tutorial especially, that is what I am aiming for)

Thanks to anyone willing to help.[/img] |

				I believe the photo filters were not added until Photoshop CS.

Try this simple way for sepia:

Image--->Adjustments--->hue/saturation

When this opens up, check the COLORIZE box

Now, put hue around 34 and saturation around 10-15.

See if that works for ya.

				No problem I'm sure there are better ways of doing it......I just don't use it enough, even as a photographer, to make it worth finding another way...LOL I've been happy with the results doing it my way

				I'm afraid J R's right photo filter didn't come in till CS.

However you can download Opanda photofilters FREE which gives a very similar effect (it has a sepia filter as well)

http://www.opanda.com/en/pf/index.html

Myself I use the method above with hue/sat. or convert to greyscale, and then duotone the image Wayne |
