I need help with smoothing my text cause when i make it bigger it goes pointy with sqaures ! :S is there a way of making it smoother?

make sure that you have not rsaterized the text before enlarging - in other words the layer in the layers palette should still show the text symbol.

Make sure you have antialiasing turned on. it'll be at the top of hte screen, in a dropdown next to the "aa" symbol.

How are you making your text "bigger? Bigger for printing the text out, or are you making it bigger by zooming in to it with the zoom tool?

Let us know. There are two possible solutions for this - different for each cause.

The only thing I can think of is leaving the layer as a text layer and usin text size until you have it sized large enough before rasterizing - like the last two users said.
Also, play with the text style (e.g. smooth, crisp etc.) next to the font selector on the toolbar to change the characteristic of the font.
For best results, it's much better to shrink the font after rasterization than to enlarge.
I always back my layers up too!
