hi how do i copy an image and paste it on another image on photoshop cs4? i have already used the pen tool on the pic i need to copy but i cant seem to copy and paste it on the other picture.

hi,
anovice myself.. but after you make your selection with the pen tool, then right click and click "make selection" now yo have your dancing ants, and you made need to inverse the selection , anyway then you can copy and paste your selection... I hope that helps you ..

i tried that but it only copied like the outline of the pic i need to copy.

I don't use the pen tool much at all, so I don't understand what you're getting at for copying and pasting. Do you suppose you could post pictures of it all?

If you are working in the same PSD document and would like to paste the contents of one layer onto another layer, it rather defeats the purpose of the concepts of layers themselves unless you will to apply blending or such. To copy a layer from one PSD document to a new layer on another PSD document, you must have both of these documents open. Then on your original document, right click the layer you wish to copy and select DUPLICATE. Up comes the small popup. Choose the destination of the duplication to your PSD document that you want this copy to be pasted on. You now should have the same layer on both documents.
