Hi all,
I am wanting to buy a external hard drive to safe my original and modified images from photoshop. Is their any rules that apply to what type of hard drive you buy or will any do. I am not bothered about space, just want the best quality for my images.
Kind Regards Josel |

Also should it be firewire or USB, Just worried of any compression that may cause to lose image quality.

I believe firewire is faster than USB and you might want to find out how much space your BIOS will recognize cause you might get a hard drive that is 250Gb and your BIOS could only use a 100Gb of the drive. As far as quality, thats all on how save your work not your hard drive. |

I use an external drive as backup, I have been using a Maxtor HD(I think?) in an aluminium drive cases, with no problems, mines usb2 but firewire is faster (although mine is pretty quick) Try and get a case with a fan if possible, it helps the life of the drive as they can heat up otherwise.
Most are plug and play, no software needed, just copy and paste across. Wayne |
