Hello:
I can't figure out how to stop a grip showing opening opening my images. All of a sudden this started happening; every time I open an image I have to go to View/Extras and uncheck it. How do I keep it off the next time I open photoshop? I have CS5 Extended.
Tks!

View -> Show -> Grid.
I think your problem isn't that by this way you have to uncheck it every time, but that photoshop doesn't save your preferences.
Do you maybe have windows Vista? If so try turning UAC off.
UAC causes a lot of vista's compatibility problems, because vista is over-cautious.
Hope this helped.

No, I do not have vista. This just started happening all of a sudden; like I have hit some quick key to set it that way; just don't know how to unset it! Ctrl H gets it on & off, but it continues to open all images in that grid.
