I am planning to do a 3 layer stencil in the near future, trouble is the vids ive seen on youtube are a bit vague and i get lost, so far ive got to making 3 layers of the same picture then differentiating each one slightly with the threshold feature but can never get them to be transparent where i need them to be. any help would be grand, hope u understood. peace Big Grin

Gosh that gave me a headache and I watched all nine minutes!!

You should have two layers that you have applied the Threshold local adjustment to and one layer beneath that is blank. On your top layer, go to Select>Colour Range>Highlights, this should 'knock-out' the whites from that top layer, repeat that procedure for the middle layer. You should then be left with a black image on a blank background. The top two layers he makes Hue and Saturation adjustments (Ctrl+U), making sure to check the Colourise box (colourize) and lighten on slide bar or you may not notice much difference.

I think it's clear after that, although I've watched it twice now and he does complicate a simple matter.

If it's still not clear I could provide an image to demonstrate but that would have to be for another day.
