I was thinking the metal texture. When we create aluminum artwork, it comes out brushed, shiny and wet looking from the clear coat. That is what I'm looking for on the silver "I" portion of the logo.

I'm not really sure what you mean with the wet part, so tell me is this what you look for?

That is much closer to what I am thinking of. The wet look would give it a very shiny look, kind of reflecting light, you get that little twinkle of light when it hits the glossy, wet coating over the letter. Picture a brand new car on the showroom floor. It's bright, shiny and the wax actually looks wet even though its dry.

I'm assuming this is not an easy, filter effect. Probably something that you used the airbrush on and different colors of grey/black with? The name on the logo is not correct. We were playing with that one and the actual name is Indy Artist Group.

I could email you the PST version of the file if you could make that logo adjustment for us, if that would work. Or if you can walk me through what you have done, I'll see what I can create.

The website this will be for is located, termporairly at www.rodeman.net. This might give you a good understanding of what we are looking for.

Thanks again. This is great!

No it isn't a filter, but it's not that hard either. Let's see if i can explain it a bit.

First of all you take the 'I' out of the image and keep it apart to play on. So now you have a nice grey shape on a seperate layer, duplicate the layer. Go to the top layer and select the shape. Go to filter/noise/add noise.. make sure to choose guassian and monochromatic. For the amount, i use little (3.48%) but you can take whatever you want. Now our shape has little points in it.

Go to your smudge tool and choose a spatter brush and important: the strenght to 40-45% no more. Now smudge that speckled shape, in this case i went with the shape of the I in the horizontal direction.

Now duplicate the layer and change the blending to multiply. Duplicate it again and go to filter/artistic/plastic wrap and set the blending of this one to linear light.

You 'll notice it looks a bit jagged. So merge these layers together and do filter/stylise/diffuse. Now it's a smoother shape.. and it only needs a hightlight, so new layer and brush some light grey on it (where you want the highlight to be) but make sure the brush is set to opacity 40% and flow 47% (or something around that). This will make sure that you can go over your area again and make the color stand out more, especially when you set the mode of the brush to lighten.

Merge them again when you're happy. Now duplicate that layer and put the top layer to overlay.. it will bring out the highlight more.

I hope this helps you..

If you have any questions post them here or if you want me to do it, pm me and i'll give you my email.
