Hello, I loaded some filter Plugins into the Photoshop filter folders. The question I have is, Are there a certain amount of filters I can use? Can I rename them so I can lessen the list by grouping some of them together, and why did the list stop at the letter g in the filters. I am missing the filters G thru Z. and the ones I did have that started with letter R like roseman are gone. They are still loaded in the folder but not available in photoshop? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Hi compristous
Are you loading these plugins directly into the plugins folder inside the install directory or using an additional folder by stipulating the name and location of it inside Photoshop's preferences?
I've never heard of having too many plugins, so I don't think there's a limit. I take it you're using the installers that come along with the plugin (most of them, anyway) as these insure the installation process is carried out correctly. As far as I know you can't rename specific folders or place them into sub-directories for easier display within Photoshop. If you do, Photoshop just ignores the additional folders.
If you're having problems with plugins and you think it may be due to the shear amount of them, then perhaps you can look at using a plugin manager. I've heard good things about the one featured here (there's a freeware version available)-

I can't really tell you how good it is though because I've never had a need to use it.

Actually noty all of the plugins came with a installer so i took the 8bf files and put them into the Adobe\Plugins\Filter folder as most required. Please understand I have over 1600 plugins. Andrews alone is about 1000. I will try that plugin mnager thing thank you. I started removing some and saw the list did rearrange. I had to delete a bunch out before the rest of my list was available. Actually once I deleted all of the anderws plugins my list gave me all the ones I thought were missing. Thank you.

Wow 1600 plugins - that's some collection!
Let us know how you get on with the Plugin Manager if you choose to use it? It will be interesting to know what you make of it for future reference.
