I have seen a number of photos with a fade in the edges, eg
a picture of a person with a white background, and the edge faded to brend in with the background.
I dont have a pic to show so i hope someone can help.  |

A couple of easy ways:
I) Place a white background behind (below) your picture. Grab a soft Eraser set to very low opacity and erase around the edges...
2) Place a white background behind (below) your picture. Then add a mask to your picture layer and with a light grey mask out the image exposing the white layer below. (There are a lot of tutorials search for MASKING on this forum)
