Hi
I am a newbie and am wondering about the default actions which ship with CS3 Photoshop. All I can find in the Actions pull down list is the Default ones.
They include:
Vignette, Frame channel, Wood Frame, Cast shadow, water reflection, custom RGB to Gray, Molten Lead, Make clip path, Sepia toning, Quadrant colrs, Save as photoshop PDF, and Gradient Map.
I have seen on the net where there should be things like
Command
Frames
Image effects
Production
Text effects
Textures
Video actons etc.
These are apparently Photoshop's Additional Built-In Actions
It says they are available from the action pallete and the drop down arrow at the top of the menu there.
I cannot find them? What am I doing wrong or do I need to reinstall Photoshop to be able to activate these.
Thanks for any help with this.
I would like to be able to change frames around an image and also work with text.

View the Actions panel: Window > Actions
View the various default actions: click on the gray triangle to the left of the words "Default Actions"
See what steps a particular action completes: click on the gray triangle to the left of the action
For example: water Reflection (Type)
Because it says (Type), you can assume that you use this one with a line of text.
When you run it on a type layer, you see a neat reflection spread out below it on a new layer. _________________ Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver tutorials at http://www.bluelobsterart.com. |

Hi and thank you very much for your reply to my query. I was able to do all you mentioned. My question still is are these all the Actions that ship with Photoshop. I believed there were things like image effects? etc. Do I select these from another area in Photoshop? Thanks heaps for your time

Yes. Click on the menu icon on the top-right corner of the Actions panel. Near the bottom of the menu is a list of seven additional sets, including Image Effects. _________________ Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver tutorials at http://www.bluelobsterart.com. |

Hi again
Thanks once again I do not know what has happened but all my actions are listed in a long line one after the other. This includes the ones you mentioned which are additional. I have a few others I have imported and they are now all lumped together in this single directory too. Is it wise to make new folders for imported ones? so I can keep it neater. You are such a help I appreciate it. Ta _________________ Land of the Long white cloud |
