I have a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5.8. I have tried multiple times to install the trial of CS5 and every single time it crashes/freezes my Mac on installation. Specifically, after I have chosen the language and entered in my computer password to allow the installation, the installation window gives me a time estimation bar below which it says "Preparing to Install." And that's where it freezes, every single time. To make matters worse, I have tried to install versions of CS4 and CS3 and I have the exact same problem. Except with these, the computer freezes right after I mount the .dmg file and double click "Setup." Typically, the Setup icon will just bounce up and down in the dock until the computer is completely frozen. I'm at the end of my rope.
