I am experiencing several display bugs with Photoshop CS5 (12.0.4). At this point I'm thinking a reinstall is in order, but I'm asking here, just in case. I am using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 on a current generation MacBook Pro.

1. When opening a document / creating a new document, it will be placed outside of my screen. However, I can see the document's layers in the layer window.

2. It is impossible to change the screen mode (windowed, full screen, etc). Trying so makes the whole interface get grayed out, with the document window becoming unresponsive. The only solution is to quit Photoshop and start it again.

I have previously looked into solutions for these two issues, and have tried the proposed solutions.

1. I have deleted all of Photoshop's preferences files manually. When launching Photoshop after clearing them, everything will work fine and new preferences files will be created. However, upon quitting and relaunching Photoshop, all the previously mentioned problems will reappear.

2. I have tried resetting the Essentials workspace. Doing so with no document opened shows no results, while trying it with a document opened makes the whole UI go gray, and quitting Photoshop becomes the only solution to be able to use it again.

3. Another fix I have found is to either plug in a second monitor or changing the screen resolution. Both actions make Photoshop act normal again, until it is closed and relaunched. Even disconnecting the second monitor or switching back to my original screen resolution makes Photoshop run correctly until it is closed.

EDIT : 4. I have tried disabling Open GL support to no avail.

I have upgraded Photoshop CS5 to the latest version proposed by Adobe (12.0.4) and tried all the proposed fixes I have found browsing the internet. I am currently clueless as to what the problem exactly is, especially since Photoshop had been running perfectly for a good 2 months now. It seems the problem has been triggered when I hooked my MBP to my television. Could it be a problem with Mac OS X? Why is it that whenever I reset PS's preferences everything works fine until I close it and relaunch it? I am clueless right now...

Thanks!
