I installed my (legal and registered) CS2 version of PS and Acrobat 7 on my MSI U120 netbook and both worked fine. I wanted to move these programs to another partition to free space on my C: drive.
So, I uninstalled CS2 (using the Control Panel/Uninstall) and told it to save my verification information for a reinstall on the same machine, different partition.
When I try to reinstall these two programs, the following problems occur:
1. The install dialogue will not recognize my serial number (the one on the back of the box containing all the installation CDs). This is the same one I used before, but it doesn't work now.
2. I tried to reinstall PS directly from its msi file on CD 1 and that failed because my netbook screen is not a high enough resolution (it is 1024x600). Again, it worked on the first install ... what happened?
I know that working PS on a netbook is not ideal, but for my purposes (designing posters for school and making illustrations for student help files) it worked perfectly fine.
I leave on an extended trip (over a month) on 12/22 and would love to carry only the netbook and not the heavy laptop.
Please help.
