Hi
I have a psd file with lots of text in it, basically a sales letter. I want to convert this file in pdf, but the text should remain text and be editable in pdf.
I have tried saving the psd file as pdf file from the save as drop down, but I cannot edit text in the resulting pdf file.
Can anyone please help me?

I don't think it's possible to edit text in a pdf... _________________ Best Regards,

I know for sure you can't edit text from a pdf if you open the pdf in Photoshop. PDFs don't support layers. _________________ Best Regards,

Adobe Acrobat Pro will create and edit PDF files. It is an expensive piece of software though. There are also some editors available for less money and free trials. Do a Google search for "pdf editors" and you should find something.
Yeah, I just did the search and there are numerous possibilities. Give it a try. |

Cool. I don't do too much work with pdfs, but that's good information to have. Thanks rich! _________________ Best Regards,

Hi
I do not need a pdf editor. I have acrobat, and photoshop. What I am looking for is if there is any way I can convert my psd to pdf, and still retain text editability.
I have tried numerous ways, using save as in photoshop to save my psd as pdf. It works in the sense that the text remains selectable, meaning I can select the text using the select tool in acrobat. But I cannot edit that text using the text tool button.
Then I have acrobat distiller, and adobe pdf as printers, and I have tried printing this psd file to these printers. And this does not work at all, meaning the whole psd becomes an image in pdf file.
I would appreciate more ideas and suggestions, if this is at all possible.

If you want to maintain the graphics but edit the text content then you might try to create two seperate documents. One with the graphics positioned as desired and the other a MS Word or other word-porcessed document of the text.
After making text edits you might be able to merge the two files or embed the text file into the graphics file.
I have done similar things in Word by simply using cut and paste. I think you might be able to use tables to position blocks of text.
As an example, copy this entire page and paste it into MS Word and you will see how it is broken up into tables so that you can edit the text to your hearts' content. You can also add or delete the graphics but you can't edit them. You would have to export them to Photoshop and then re-import them.
This approach might not suit your needs, but you might try it. |
