I have a 300 DPI image file with a few layers that total about 40megs in size. After flattening the image and exporting it to PDF format, the file size is still rather large at about 6megs. I need to keep the clarity of this file as is becuase it needs to be printed out and there is writing on it that needs to be clear. If I change the DPI to anything other than 300 and then export it to PDF, the file size goes down but then the image becomes very blurry. In essence, I need to make this large 40meg PSD file and turn it into a PDF file that is really small in size without sacrifycing the quality.
Can anyone lend me a hand? I ran a search and cuoldn't really find any specifics that will help me out. Any help is appreciated! |

When you Save As a pdf from Photoshop, you should get a jpg quality setting. What compression level are you using?
You don’t say the dimensions, but if your file is letter size at 300 ppi, I’d think you should be able to get a pdf below 1 MB and still have decent quality. |
