Sounds like a good workflow. Just to be clear, you make a Copy of your original, downsize, and convert to sRGB for web use. (I assumed that is what you meant, but just want to clarify.)
If you Save for Web your images will be stripped of their sRGB embedded tag. But that’s ok, because even though the majority of the WWW is not colored managed (the exception being Safari and IE Explorer for Mac) the browsers will assume the image is sRGB and will display as such.
Pictures will still look different on various computers. In an ideal world, all monitors would be color corrected with a decent white-point setting and same gamma. But that is not the case, so your pics will vary monitor to monitor- you’ll just have to live with that.

(again, let me reference you to Mr. Ballard’s page on web-bound images: http://www.gballard.net/psd/saveforwebshift.html) Be sure to check his “PROOF my point HERE” link to see how differently tagged and untagged images display on the web.

Oh, so the "Save for Web" feature will automatically strip any embedded profiles, that is good. Even though I have been using Photoshop extensively for five years, the arena of color management is a new learning experience. I have not needed it, until I started preparing images for the Lightjet5000 printer.
