when u design your page in photoshop first do u have to make all your buttons and navigation image maps. How and why do u slice images and put them in tables...thanx for your time |

you dont have to, but you could. most of the time buttons are made in photoshop. sometimes the looks for the buttons are made in photoshop, (but if they have a bunch of animations with them, the file might become to large, depending on the size of the rest of the page) i have seen people with bery fraphic intense sites make the buttons in flash mx. but that makes it even more complicated. probably just make it in photoshop |

You slice images so that you don't have to use image maps. Image maps are ugly and user unfriendly in the long run... trust me on that.
When you slice an image PS all on it's own places the images into a table, keeps the layout, and pretty much saves you time creating your own tables.
