My brush settings are not saved when I save a brush (Photoshop CS).

With 'settings' I mean the settings in the brush palette, settings like scattering, shape dynamics, spacing, etc.

I have however downloaded and installed brushes that had these settings saved, so it should be possible, but the question is: how?

Yep. I ran into the same exact thing. Nothing was the same as when I used it last. Everything kept reverting back to default settings, the brush tool, clone tool, everything. I ended up reseting the settings for them. To do this, start photoshop then quickly hold down *+ctrl+alt. It'll ask you if you want to reset your settings (or somehthing to that effect), just click yes (or ok). Hope this helps. If not, plz post again.
