Please can anybody recommend a good, quick way of selecting the right font for use on the logo of a website?
I have often agonised over what font to use for the logos of each new website I set up. I am sure that many other Photoshop designers would agree that there are so many, you just don't know where to start.
My latest dilemma is what font to use for the heading of my new free dating site for movie fans at www.singlemovielovers.co.uk. At present, I have just used Impact. However, I would like a font that would look much more related to cinema logos (e.g. 20th Century Fox), but also with a dating theme thrown in.
I also want some good suggestions on how I can obtain film-type strip image for my main logo, plus some FREE jpegs of courting couples at the cinema. Thanks. _________________ The Webmaster

Unfortunately there's no easy answer to your question. The field of typography or the art of type is immensely complex and people devote entire careers learning which typefaces are the most suitable to convey the moods they wish to give. There is no shortcut to learning this although I'm sure others will disagree.
Have you tried Googling for royalty-free stock photography? Film and television fonts are also widely available on the web. |
