Tiny but mighty question.........
I need to expand the pixels of my layer.
However when I go to Select > Modify, Modify is greyed out.

(Yes I have CTRL'd + clicked on the layer)

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum

Change it from Indexed to RGB? Image>Mode>RGB

or

Make sure that you have a selection active, you can't modify something with a selection unless it is active. Ctrl+click the layer.

It must be something I'm doing though because it's a problem on more than one computer & on more than one document

lol, I see that I should have read your post more carefully! Don't know off hand, what are your document settings, perhaps a screenshot? Don't know if it will help, it seems like the answer should be blindingly obvious.

Cant see any marching ants in that image.

Should be able to see the ants if it has been selected. Possibly you couldn't printscreen with it like that.

Anyway the options in your picture are typical, 'nothing is selected' options.
So very odd.
