I'm using PS CS2 on XP.
I am trying to help out a friend and make a bunch of PNGs that are a single number for a clock.
1.png
2.png
3.png
etc
I'm trying to do a bunch of fonts for this project. So far i've dne 8 by hand, but there has to be a better way.
Currently I have 1 file with 10 layers in it, with a number in each layer.
I'm going throgh each layer and changing the font.
Then turning off any other layer and turning on just 1 layer, and saving that layer as a PNG. PS saves this with a transparent background which is what I want.
Is there a way to automate these steps?
-I've googled and googled.
-I've tried doing Files|Scripts|Export layers to files but this doesnt support PNG (supports many others)
-I've tried above export to PSD and then using a program called ABC convert, which works, but ABC convert doesnt leave this wit a transparent background.
-I've tried using EZ Macro - but this program doesnt work well with Photoshop
-I've tried using Photoshops batch commands, but I dont understand them well.
If someone has a good solution, and it's something complicated like batch, can you please leave a few detailed steps or link a page showing what to do?

There's a few ways around this little problem.
You could try using the 'export layers to files' script as you already know how this works, export the layers as psd files, then load all the psd files (say 50 at a time but would depend on your ram etc) and use an action to save them out as PNG's.
To create an action just open the actions palette and hit the record button at the bottom, then go ahead and save one, making sure you save into a new folder. Then stop the action and play it over.
There are better ways to work, using actions and scripts, but this is probably the easiest based on the methods you've already tried!
