EWOCprojects proudly presents Venetian Mask, a brand new open source graphical application that offers some powerful tools for selecting portions of an image and save these as alpha information or grayscale masks for use in applications such as Photoshop or the Gimp.
The main concept revolves around the new user-friendly and interactive use of the well known 'magic wand' image manipulation tool. Features are extensive preview system, interactive parameter adjustment and a node-based structure for recording and combining different selections.
This was a script for Blender 2.49 before, it has now matured into a faster and meaner standalone app.

Since it has been programmed in Python it is platform independent but as far only tested on Windows machines.
IMPORTANT !!! The program needs some Python libraries: make sure you install the latest versions of the following:
* Python Imaging Library (PIL)
* psyco
* wxPython
before trying to run the Venetian Mask application.
