I'm pretty new to photoshop, and I've started on a personal project. I want to basically take a video still from a music video and turn it into a poster. Sadly i can not find a good quality version of the video as it is older and not super famous, (kyuss-one inch man). So i found an online video that is better then youtube but not great, and i captured it through the vista snipping tool (screen capture).

Basically I want to take this low quality picture, and turn it into a good quality poster (not huge). What techniques and things must I do? I'll probably have to find a printer near here and require a specific dpi as well.

Thanks,

Andrew

I'm afraid to tell you that this task might well be considered impossible.

you are taking a low quality image and going to make it larger to make it into a poster.

if you were to take a high quality image and make it larger it becomes pixelated because when you enlarge it, basically the computer has no reference points of color for each of it's pixels and therefore it picks what it thinks is right (and the computer is almost always wrong in that aspect). This causes a slightly blurred, distorted image.

so if you take a low quality image and attempt to do this it will only go from low to LOWER.

there may be others that have a different opinion so be sure to check back and don't just rely on my answer.

Well, the picture is basically solid colours, so i'm going over them to get rid of the blur.

I was wondering, how do you take a part of one picture, (cut a piece) make and inverse of that piece and put it on the picture i'm working on?

and by inverse I mean from black to white etc.
