Years ago, I needed some kind of imaging program to make a website i was working on look better. As much as I wanted to use Photoshop, I could only afford (the new at this time) Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8. I found that PSP was actually a great program, and it was very easy to learn and pick up, which was good because there weren't/aren't very many websites with tutorials on Jasc.

Now a few months ago, I was telling a friend of mine that I always wanted to use Photoshop, but couldn't see myself ever paying the kind of money it costs. He told me that at his office they had a few extra copys of CS2 and that he could get me one. I installed it, played around with it, and gave the CD and box back to my friend. I vowed to replace Jasc with it, but every time I use it, the interface just frustrates me. I try to do something simple, and just wish I could use Paint Shop to do it.

Im completley unused to this huge amount of good websites with tutorials and videos on how to use this program. So, I need help finding a good place to start and familiarize myself with how it works because it seems so drastically different than Jasc and the Gimp, the only programs of this nature Ive gotten used to (moreso the former than the latter).

Where should I start?

You found it! Browse through all the sections here and read up on the tutorials. As with anything, practice is the best thing. More specifically, if you run across something that you can't figure out, use the search feature of this site first, and if you can't find it, post a question in the beginner's section. Good luck and have fun!
