I am trying to figure out photoshop a little better because I'm new to it. I'm doing this Fight Club like silhouette thing, just trying to learn.
I have a problem though, I don't know how to make the parts in between his arms and his chest transparent, So the background can be seen through the hole.

If you mean the white of the shirt...simply select it with the magic wand tool. and press delete. Now for it to be able to be posted as transparent you need to save it as a gif or png file. Jpg will fill with white.
